About Noor-e-Hidayah
A Journey Towards Understanding the Qur'an
Noor-e-Hidayah (نورِ ہدایت) is an Islamic learning platform created to help people explore the Qur'an, learn about its teachings, and strengthen their understanding of Islam through a simple and accessible digital experience.
Our aim is to make Qur'anic learning more organised, beginner-friendly, and accessible to learners through different languages and interactive learning tools.
Project introduction
Noor-e-Hidayah is a digital Qur'an learning project designed to bring Qur'anic reading, explanations, learning resources, and progress tracking together in one place. The platform aims to support beginners and regular learners through an accessible, multilingual, and organised learning experience.
Our Mission
Our mission is to make learning about the Qur'an easier to access, encourage consistent learning, and help people explore authentic Islamic knowledge with clarity and respect.
Our Vision
We envision a digital learning space where people can explore Qur'anic teachings, learn at their own pace, and develop a deeper understanding of the message of the Qur'an.
Our Commitment
We aim to present Islamic information responsibly, identify our learning sources wherever possible, and distinguish verified scholarly guidance from content that is still awaiting review.
Where the content comes from
- Qur'an: The Arabic text is the Uthmani text of the Tanzil Project (CC BY 3.0, unmodified), stored on this site so it also works offline. Translations (including Sahih International, Muhammad Asad, Pickthall and Yusuf Ali) are loaded from the free Al Quran Cloud service. Recitation audio is by Mishary Rashid Alafasy.
- Hadith: taken from the well-known collections (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Jami at-Tirmidhi, Sunan Abi Dawud, Sunan an-Nasa'i and Sunan Ibn Majah). Each Hadith shows its reference and grade.
- Prayer times: calculated on your device with the open-source Adhan library, using the method and madhab you choose.
- Lessons, FAQ and other explanations: based on the Qur'an, Tafsir, Hadith and other educational references. Sources are shown wherever available.
Languages
Noor-e-Hidayah is available in English, Hindi and Urdu.
Scholarly Review
Noor-e-Hidayah is an ongoing learning project. Scholarly review of the platform's Islamic educational content is currently in progress.
Users are encouraged to consult qualified Islamic scholars for religious guidance. References and source information will be provided wherever available.
Language and Translation Review
Noor-e-Hidayah aims to make Qur'anic learning accessible to everyone. Lessons are currently written in English. The interface, Qur'an translations, Hadith and Seerah are also available in Hindi and Urdu, and more lesson translations are planned.
The source and translator of published translations will be identified wherever applicable. Original Hindi and Urdu educational content that has not yet undergone qualified review will be clearly identified as awaiting review.
